PREVENTIVE MEASURES ARE TAKEN, BY LOW PRESSURE ZONE

• Rains of up to 150 mm are expected, for some regions of the Organization

• They invite communities of Suchiate to take refuge in temporary shelters

Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas. Friday, 03.SEPT.2010. -    ▀ According to the weather forecast of the Organism of South Border River basin of the National Commission of Agua (CONAGUA) the zone of low pressure that remains almost stationary on the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, will be reinforced by cyclonal flow in mean levels of the atmosphere and by the monzónico flow of the Pacific, a situation that combined to the originating humidity entrance of the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, generates instability atmospheric and maintains a potential of strong rains to intense, mainly towards the Coast of Chiapas during all the weekend.

            In press conference, the meteorologist of CONAGUA, Yendi Alvarez Chacón explained that the low pressure that was located to the southwest of Jalisco has intensified to the Tropical10E Depression, but its trajectory does not represent any risk for Mexico. In addition, the Cold front does not extend on the south of the United States with displacement towards the Southeastern, hopes that it enters tomorrow to the north of the Gulf of Mexico.

            In the Atlantic, the Hurricane “Earl” moves towards the nor-northeast 30km/h. The Tropical Storm “Fiona” moves to the north to 20km/h and the surpluses of the Tropical Depression “Gastón”, that move to the west the present trajectory of these systems do not represent a risk for the coasts of Mexico. A new zone of low pressure on the coast the west of Africa has conditions to intensify to tropical revolving storm between Saturday and Sunday.

            On the System of Prey of the Grijalva Stop, the CONAGUA in Chiapas informed that the dams have received historical water contributions in rains and drainings and it has done necessary to maintain the extraction policy, in gradual and controlled growth.

            On the other hand, the chief of a main directorate of the Institute of Civil defense in the State, Luis Manuel Garci'a Moreno, exhorted mainly to the citizenship in general and to the regions North, Isthmus-Coast, Soconusco and Sierra to take his pertinent precautions, due that in next the 48 hours will be appearing intense rains in those regions, by which it invites itself to them to be kind to mass media because the alertamientos of the new system of alert for all the State of Chiapas will be occurring, where exposes the State Procedure of Alert (IT COMES), depending on the intensity of rains that appear in the different regions from the organization.

            “Like prevention measures, the Institute of Civil defense for Integral Manejo of Risks of Disasters, through regional supervisor in the Soconusco zone, invited the settlers of 22 communities of the municipality of Suchiate, to take refuge of temporary way in the shelters that are had installed, as he is it the Audience Juan Sabines Guerrero and the municipal DIF, located in the municipal head of this municipality” added Garci'a Moreno.

            It explained that these measures of prevention are made because these communities, are near the channel of the Suchiate River and before the intense rain prognosis, it can be feasible of underflow and would affect with encharcamientos the houses of these towns.

            “The Regional Councils of Civil defense in the zones, Stops, Border, Mountain range, North, Forest, Isthmus-Coast, Soconusco activated in permanent session and Frailesca, to be kind according to the weather forecast for this weekend” added the chief of a main directorate of Civil defense of the State.

            The state civil employee added that for the North zones, Isthmus Coast, Soconusco and Sierra, intense rains of 70 to 150 mm will predominate, reason why in these zones is applied  it alerts “ORANGE” of the State Procedure  of Alert (IT COMES).

            Of equal way it mentioned that strong rains of 20 to 70 mm are expected, for the regions Center, Stops, Border, Frailesca and Forest, which places to these zones in “YELLOW” alert of the State Procedure  of Alert (IT COMES).

            “Las autoridades del Sistema Estatal de Protección Civil, estamos ya coordinados para trabajar ante este pronóstico, por lo que se recomienda a la población alejarse de arroyos o ríos factibles de desbordamientos, ubicarse en zonas altas y seguras, ubicar los refugios temporales más cercanos a su comunidad y en caso de ser necesario acudir a ellos para que se les brinde la ayuda pertinente”, añadió Luis Manuel García Moreno.
